On the plus side, the Chromecast app is now available in Ireland, which may mean that they plan to extend the availability of the hardware.

Got my hands on a Chromecast. When I cast from desktop pc to tv I get picture but no sound.
Works fine on tablet for Youtube and Netflix.
Would like to stream XBMC but no luck so far.
Anyone any ideas that would help

It may sound dumb, but have you checked the volume on the PC?

Yes I have. Still no sound from tv. From what I have been reading Google has deliberately designed it so that there is no sound. Sound is perfect with Netflix and Utube but everything else....no sound.

Anyone any ideas as to how I can get sound with XBMC and Chromecast?
