    Hey folks
Just wondering where in mainland Europe is nice to go in December for a bit of Christmas shopping and just has a good Christmas atmosphere and charm about it ,

I'd go to some german town like Freiburg, Nurenberg, Bamberg or Regensburg: beautiful old towns, picturesque Christmas market, nice atmosphere

Vienna is beautiful at any time of year but v.nice around Christmas with the markets etc. Very reasonable place to visit as well. Cafe and Kuche (cake) very much recommended. You can have it in historical cafes where Freud and Marx used to frequent for very reasonable prices.
