Alert your local "we buy gold" shop...thats the first port of call for burglars disposing of jewellery.

Thanks. Have done that. Emailed approx 100 shops. Most have been really helpful and are keeping an eye out

Sorry to hear that. Went through this a few months ago, elderly relative in hospital, house broken into, wedding rings/jewellery taken. Insurance paid out financially but can't replace the actual wedding rings.

Its unlikely anything will be recovered for your mother. There is very little chance of getting a fingerprint as the burglars cover their tracks.

Best to buy and bolt a wall or floor safe in the home.

I live in the general Lucan area near Superquinn. Roughly what part of Lucan was the burglarly?

Yes unfortunately they take items of sentimental value. Even though it's not right we could have lived with the TV or phones being nicked (which they did not take). Our neighbours were also robbed a week prior but unfortunately we only found out about it after.

The burglars were actually seen by another set of neighbours and reported to the guards. They had long white gloves on, and pink/corel hoodies oddly enough so stood out a mile.

The guards have said there has been 95 burglaries in Superquinn/Hillcrest in the last year of the same nature. So lock up your stuff !
We are over the other side in St Marys but funnily enough they don't mind travelling

Thanks for the update re Hillcrest area. Am just up at Finnstown. We lock everything in safe when out including modem and laptop. Burglars seem to do a blitz in areas. Have escaped so far ourselves, will just have to be careful going forward.
