Buying from Amazon (USA) - Will there be extra customs/taxes?

Just have a quick query - usually on eBay if you buy something from an American Seller, it usually says (no hidden/extra import charges - all included in final sale as apart of some directive agreed with eBay).

Does anyone know if the same applies to Amazon.com - It's intl economy shipping + runners for €91.52ish (10-20 days delivery time).

Just wondering if companies like eBay and Amazon are separate from buying from private companies like Footlocker etc where I was charge imports at the door.

Thanks, I actually saw a note on the Amazon site shortly after posting that customers were liable for all taxes and charges outside of the USA.

Do you buy any chance know the payment methods for this. I don't know if I'll have the cash on me at the door when they arrive as the time is anywhere from 10 - 20 days.

Is it An Post that take the payment or have I to go somewhere to make it?

It will all depend on shipping method - courier, An Post, etc. Usually it's payment on delivery. If you pay cash, make sure you get a receipt.

But you think you can pay with card though do you - I usually pay for everything with a credit card for record purposes. I hate using cash or a debit card.

I received my order this morning, I cannot believe how quick it arrived. The estimated shipping date was Thursday 24th Oct - 4th November. It was delivered by An post by International Priority.

I wasn't charged any VAT at the door. I said nothing!

My question is, is that the end of it now or could I expect an invoice for the VAT by letter from Revenue?

I read Citizens Information that it is the job of the delivery company to charge the VAT and/or custom charges. As they did not, is that the end of it on that basis because I didn't even think delivery companies such as An Post, DHL etc release the products until the VAT was paid.
