tcd and absences, advice on how to handle it

2nd year bess student. I've been sickly for the last month, hospitalised for a week and i'm still recovering but not fully there. I had sick certs/doctor certs dropped into the departments to cover my absences up until tomorrow. I'm not sure if i've able for going back to college this week, the lectures to an extent but tutorials will be difficult. I've been following any lectures put up online. I'm able to get longer sick certs if needed but really i just want to get back into it.

Does anyone know how long you can miss without it affecting your attendance/ability to pass the year?

Should i contact my tutor about the above?

Is it possible to go to lectures for a while rather than tutorials?

I'm going to deal with this in tcd either this afternoon or tomorrow morning so figured any advice going in would be helpful

Get in touch with your tutor and explain the situation. In second year Bess as far as I'm aware there is not bonus marks for attending tutorials (Business/Economics at least).

Contacting your tutor is the best option.

As long as you have valid reason for leave (medical certs etc), then you'll be excused from the work to an extent.

However, if you miss a certain number of days (essentially most of the semester), you may be advised to repeat off books next year because it would be near impossible to catch up (and College has some attendance policy which requires all students to attend a certain percentage of each semester in order to sit the exams).
