    Hello All,
I have a '99 A3 that keeps cutting out and overheating when idling/almost idle, I don't know if the two are connected. I have to keep the heating on to cool the engine down when driving, it was a hot sweaty summer. I have to keep the engines revving when at lights to stop it from stalling and I look like an old boy racer! I have taken it to 2 different garages but they said they couldn't find a problem, which is unbelievable as both times the car overheated and cut out on my way home from the garage. Can anyone recommend a good garage for this as I just want to get the problem sorted. I have no idea about engines other than I want them to work for me.
    Thanks in advance,
    overheating, overage boy racer!

    Where are you based?
George Dalton is a member on here (his garage is outside portlaoise) he would know these very well.

Thanks pred racer, I'm based in Dublin, I would rather go local but I will keep that as a plan B, cheers
