Knee gone !

    Hey Guys

Hoping someone can give me some good advice here.

Was out on a run last night and I got to 6k and had this shooting pain in the left side of my left knee, had to hobble home with it. Had got this only slightly before on runs of about 12k but woulod be gone by the morning.

Today it is still there, any kind of impact or bending of the knee causes the pain.

I know it was overtraining on my part, I went from a first run of 5k to a 4th run of 12k. Too much too soon, completely mt fault.

Any suggestions on what to do to ease this pain and how to get back into running without causing it to go again ?

    Cheers all

Step 1: Go see a phyisio
Step 2: Do what he/she tells you to
    Step 3: ?

We do not give out medical advice. Injuries may have common symptoms but are unique to the individual - just because you were able to keep training with X injury or were out for months because of Y doesn't mean that the same will apply to someone else. Bad advice given here and followed through could aggravate an injury and prevent an athlete making a full recovery in as rapid a time as possible. This restriction is Boards-wide and purposely heavy-handed. So don't feel offended if your thread about a sprained ankle (which you may deem "non-medical") gets locked.
