Hi all im just starting on the building of my first home. I am in the building trade so im trying to get the best house I can for the best money. Im in the trade so I must love the hardship.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with a few company names for glazing companies. Im looking at the option of buying outside the country as it seems I will get better value for money. I know it may be a bit more hardship but as I said before I seem to attract hardship.

I would also like to hear some experiences from anyone who went down this route.
I think I will also get a few irish companies to price as I know there can be good deals here too. So if you could tell me of a a few experiences, good and bad, and of the good value companies Ireland has to offer that would be great.

    Thanks everyone.

Look em up on Facebook and see if you can get some prices.

    Good luck!

Triple glazing is fairly standard now so most companies do it. I got great valkye last year but I'm not naming the company here for fear of being accused of advertising. Anyway they are local and don't do outside this area.
When you mention from abroad, are you saying supply only with you doing the installation?

No I think I would like the whole job done by the same company as not to have anyone blaming someone else if something goes wrong.
Im situated in south east if you think that company would do this area just PM me the name. Cheers

Also, some general advice - we gained a large reduction from our initial quotes by looking again at our window requirements, and fixing some windows (i.e. changing from an opening sash, to a fixed panel or window).

If you do this, bear in mind Part F - Ventilation requirements, with regards to purge ventilation for habitable rooms (i.e. 1/20th of room floor area).

while it is realivy easy to bu in windows from germany, the uk or other europenn countries it would need to be a big order to cover teh extra cost of shipping. also most will supply only and you would need to arrange fittign over here, not sure how that works with guarentes.

most irish compaies are doing it now so there should a good range. we got in a large munster based company to do the house and they a good windows, put in extension but got anothe rirish based compnay for that as they were better value.

all depends on you budget andwhat excatly you want. many of our euporen neighbours in places like, holland, sweden and germany have superour products in thier mid range price range (equivilant to the top range over here) and we did investiage getting some in. but the price of tranpost over an dfittign negated that.
