Automated emailing for client reminder

Hi, dont know if this is the right forum for this thread so apologies if I am clogging up the board.

I am helping a friend with some computer issues in relation to her business.
When she takes bookings for her dog grooming business she is inputting the data into the calendar application of Outlook and wants to set it up so that an automated email reminder is sent to client two days before the appointment.

Is there any simple way to do this that I am missing?
