    Hello everyone,
    Was wondering if you could help please?
    Am looking at buying a Peugeot 307 diesel as above.. Budget is limited, currently drive an 05 Mazda 6 and due to the amount of mileage I'm doing lately, it's breaking me (Also, needs some work doing which could be the guts of 800 euro!)

    Can anyone advise if the above is a good/decent car?
    I'm looking at one that is 90bhp.. would it pull snow off a rope, or should I just not bother?

    Am looking for a smaller car, more economical to run and tax, and have had a Peugeot 206 1.9TDI before and loved it.

    Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

    I have a 90bhp tdci focus exact same engine as 1.6hdi. You would want to make sure you buy a well maintained one or you will have reliability hassle good engine but won't take much abuse in terms of lack of servicing.

    As for pulling snow of a rope :pac: I have pulled a double axle trailer with mine a few times no hassle there torque enough 230nm approx. I'd Imagine you'd be ok up to ton and 1/2 maybe. If your talking about power then there not to bad they pull well through the gears serious pull in 3rd gears if you gun it. At the end of the day they won't win any races it there better than most standard 1.4/1.6 petrols on the road.

    Thanks a million!
    Won't be pulling anything with it, more curious about power.
    Won't be racing it either, just need an economical mid-sized car that will fit a couple kids and dogs :pac:
    I am doing a phenomenal amount of mileage lately, and the Mazda, while a great car, is expensive on petrol, and tax...

    Thanks again for the feedback though :)

    It should suit your needs fine then. I get 54 mpg out of mine on average. As I said just be careful to get a well minded one ideally with fsh and make sure you service it every 15 k km with the right grade 5w30 oil. Obviously get it well checked over by a mechanic before you buy it. After that all I can say is best of luck with the search.

    If your looking for a reliable car avoid the 307 and any car with that 1.6 hdi engine. They give turbo issues amongst other things. That goes for properly maintained examples as well.

    Those design flaws can be got around. However why should the OP have to spend more money on a car they just bought to do fairly labour extensive work?

    Going for a 307, go for a 2.0 HDi

    I had an 05 307 with that 90bhp 1.6 in it. Great engine, and very economical. Easily returned an average of 55+mpg. Think another boardsie owns it now.

    A+++ would buy again
