Hi my grant application status is "Application awaiting assessment". The date on this is 29th August. Should I ring to find out what's going on or leave it for another while?

I've literally just got off the phone from them on behalf of my son whose statement has said exactly the same since 27th August. They were very nice and told me it was sent for final review on 9/10 and it takes 3 to 4 weeks at least. But could not tell me anymore as thats all thats on the system until a decision has been made. Not much help really sorry.

Hi, do you mean it was sent for review on 9th or 10th September or that it's going for review on 9th of October ( 9/10) ? So is your son's design due this week or 4 more weeks time? Sorry am a bit confused and really annoyed not having a decision for my daughter's application!

Hi sorry i put that the wrong way around it was sent for final review on september 10th and it takes at least 3/4 weeks from there. They said its just a matter of waiting and they can do nothing to speed up the process. I know what you mean it's ridiculous not knowing at this point when they have already been in college 6 weeks.

I was going to ring them but I don't see the point. It won't bump me up in the list.

There should be a system that sorts the applications, prioritising the ones that satisfy all of the requirements from the ones that need further documentation, just so the people who have everything can get approved since they take the least time to process.

    If only :)

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I emailed them, got this reply:
    Thank you for your e-mail.

I have reviewed your application and I can confirm that there has been no update as of yet. Your documents have been successfully received and you will receive correspondence as soon as they have been assessed informing you of the next step in the application process.

    I hope this information helps.

I have been awaiting final assessment since 27th of August, just got an email a few minutes ago that I was awarded the grant.

Shouldn't be too long now for yours. :)

Brilliant , we're August 28th. Did it update on the site as well? Previously the site wasn't updated and people had a letter or email

I wish i was in the same position. I entered final assessment on the 27th for the first time and October 11th for the second time. I wont be holding my breath.

Got a letter in the post today looking for more documents, documents that were posted in 3 months ago. This is the second time they've lost stuff on me

I got the same letter too. I honestly think they sent it out because I've been openly complaining about them!

    Thanks mango salsa :)
I'm not sure that the link worked for the mobile site, here is the link to the SUSI Talk to Forum if anyone wants to talk to SUSI representatives directly http://www.boards.ie/ttforum/1610

It might also help to read the responses to other people who might be experiencing the same issues. Hope that helps :)
