Audi A4 (2003) - Replacement Car Key

    It looks like I lost my car key yesterday on the golf course :rolleyes:

    Luckily, my mate drove, so it was only when I got home that I went :rolleyes:

    anyways, I have the black plastic key (which much to my surprise, works fine) with the codes but I need to get a replacement key.

    So I rang autokey, and they charge €100 for the replacement key and €260 for the key and recoding.

    this seems very high to me. Do I have any options here?

    1. I thought I could buy a key from Ebay and get it cut?
    2. Does it really cost €160 extra to recode the key, I thought this would be a very straightforward job

    Any advise greatly appreciated.
