    Has anybody used this site before for getting a Birth Cert? Need one for a visa application.

    The link you have above will get you a legal document, but they're effectively charging you for nothing. That's not a government service, they're just applying for the cert on your behalf and charging you for it.

    Use this one instead:

    http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/Certificates/

    The HSE will charge you €20 + €2 postage for a birth cert. The other site will charge you twice that.
