hi i own a indesit washing machine, must be ten yrs old .last week it started making a scraping noise while turning during wash,,so when clothes were finished i checked drum and pushed down on its slightly and turning it at same time and it made scraping noise at bottom of drum . i did a bit of pushing and pulling with it and when i went to put on a wash the next day water it was still making scraping noise but also water started leaking out of back of washing machine,i took off back of washing and machine and watched it while running a load and when turning it starts to leak water from the outskirts of drum, kind of in the middle. and scraping noise still there, just wondering what this could be and whether its worth getting fixed, any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like the main bearing has failed.

What has happened is that one of the arms of the drum shaft has snapped which has allowed the drum to tilt, touch the element and eat out the outer tub.
