We Are Men

Talk about disappointing. You would think that a show that attracts Jerry O'Connell, Kal Penn and Tony Shalhoub has to have something a little special going on but alas We Are Men is about as interesting as watching a paper bag flutter down an empty street. And like that bag, the jokes are flat and lack any substance.

The writing here is poor and do incrediably cliched that the whole thing feels like it was ripped directly out of the pages of the mid 90s edition of Writing Generic TV Sitcoms for Idiots. There's not a single original moment in the pilot and most disappointing of all is the fact that there is not one solitary laugh to be found. Perhaps subsequent episodes will see an improvement but don't be surprised to see this disappear after three episodes.

CBS has cancelled it after only 2 episodes

For the record, the first episode was watched by only 6.4 million viewers, and could only manage a Nielsen rating of 2.0/5 - making it the lowest-rated in-season comedy premiere in CBS's history.

The second episode was watched by just 5.4 million viewers, and managed a 1.8/5 rating.

Do No Harm was also cancelled after two episodes, of course, with NBC burning off the remainder in a slot where virtually nobody was going to watch them. I presume CBS will do the same thing with the remaining episodes of this show.

In the meantime, 2 Broke Girls will take over the Monday 8:30ET slot:

I thought the show was better than I expected. I think it needed time to find its stride. I personally think it's a shame. 2BG is far inferior. I really can't fathom how that show is still around.

A major scheduling screw up here. Who puts a "man's " comedy up against Monday Night Football, and the Major League Baseball playoffs and expects to get an audience?

I don't really understand CBS scheduling in general... They should've paired We Are Men with The Crazy Ones from Day 1 - the only two sitcoms on the network without a laugh track... It's pretty much, painting by numbers...

They should've moved Two and a Half Men back to Mondays... The Big Bang Theory can carry Thursdays all on its own even with 3 newbie shows...

Their sitcom schedule should've looked a little more like this...

    Monday:
8.00 How I Met Your Mother
    8.30 Mom
    9.00 2 Broke Girls
9.30 Two and a Half Men

    Thursday:
    8.00 The Big Bang Theory
    8.30 The Millers
    9.00 The Crazy Ones
    9.30 We Are Men

    Much stronger line-up right there.
A lot of the "Big 5" scheduling makes very little sense to me. They should all let me have a try at their schedules

In fairness though you've 3 new shows on Thu. Seems high risk but based on having seen the shows you've a good point!
