    Hi everyone

Does anyone know if you can get travel insurance that will cover a flight cancellation or a hotel cancellation due to bad weather i.e. tropical storm / hurricane ??

Most travel policies will cover abandonment or cancellation of travel as a result of strikes or adverse weather, you just need to read the small print to make sure you're getting what you're looking for. You only asked about weather, that would be covered by most travel policies except the ones that are only designed for medical expenses.

My policy says that after a delay of 12 hours, I can elect to abandon the holiday and claim up to €2,500 of unrecoverable costs, that's a policy that comes with a particular credit card. I would also be covered if the Dept of Foreign Affairs recommends not travelling to that country, that could hapen if there is severe damage to roads, infrastructure etc. in the event of severe weather.

    Mind if I ask/add a q to this thread.

Were flying to marrakech dec 28th thru manchester from Dublin.

The weather looks OK on forecast but is it possible to get insurance so that if our flight from dub is delayed and we miss our Manchester connection that we are covered? It shouldn't happen as there is 3 hrs btw arrival and departure but just in case...

    Thank you

Dublin and Manchester are that close to one another that any weather that delays flights out of Dublin would in all probability affect Manchester airport to the same degree. With a three hour window, I wouldn't be worrying about it.
