2 sheets of kitchen roll folded up and well wetted(but not dripping) with normal glass cleaner. Rub over the entire windscreen from the passengers seat. Buff dry with 2 more folded sheets of kitchen roll. This might need to be repeated if it's very dirty. If there are any streaks left I use a small bit of Autoglym glass polish.

Lidl glass cleaner is without a doubt the best glass cleaner available cheaply. There is no smell and it doesn't streak like some other cleaners.

Main mistake people make it just smudging the dirt around, you need to clean it off completely before adding product and use as little water as is possible

Autoglym Glass Polish is fantastic stuff. If the 'screen is very dirty, it might take 2 or 3 applications to get it clean.

If you find it's getting dirty very quickly, it might be worth checking that your cabin filter is in good shape.

They tend to be behind the glovebox on the heater fan matrix, easy to pop in a new one.

I find the biggest pain is that at the bottom of my dash/window I get over spray from any dressing used on the dash which is a bugged to get back off. Autoglym also is good but I always seem go get a dusty residue left over when using it

+1. Use it sparingly though - just thin layers on the glass - or you'll end up with blue powder everywhere.

Only thing for cleaning windows is vinegar and newspaper. The ink mixed with the vinegar does the trick, try it you won't be disappointed.

Add a table-spoon of white vinegar to a cup full of distilled or de-ionised water (for topping up batteries or for use in steam irons), and grab two of the Mammy's soft cloths, linen or lint-free cotton. Dip one in the cup and squeeze out the excess solution. Clean the windscreen thoroughly and before it dries, polish with the other cloth.

You'll have enough to do all the windows and mirrors inside and out for very little dough. The vinegar smell won't last but if you don't like it, use Lenor scented water for steam irons to mask it. The green part is no chemicals (except the Lenor smelly water if you use it) and the cloths can be thrown into the washing machine with a hot wash and used again. As an alternative to the polishing cloth, you can use crumpled up newspaper for the outside windows and mirrors.

Apply your dash dressing to a cloth first then wipe it onto the dash.

If anything, the ink would only cover the glass in black. Think of what happens to your hands when you hold a newspaper. It's the absorbency of the paper that's good for cleaning windows.

For the best finish and future visibility, always be sure to use the likes of AG Glass polish afterwards to remove any traces of ink and streaks.

    DIY > Detailing.

I just use white vinegar in an old spray bottle and microfibre, works well for me.
Keep micros in each door pocket for wiping condensation etc from window.

    B.

It's simple, this is what i'd do.

Buy a three pack of microfibre cloths and some Autoglym glass polish.

Apply some to the first cloth and clean the entire windscreen with it. After this first application, there is probably still some streaks and smears, but most of the dirt should be gone. At no stage should you allow any part of your skin touch the glass.

Get the second cloth and repeat, but with much less polish on the cloth.

Finally, use the last cloth to buff to a shine. As mentioned, you're trying to remove dirt, using one cloth just moves it around.

Wash all the cloths and store them away from dirt for use the next time.
