    Hello

I need to rent a car for two weeks next summer. There'll be four adults and two children (a toddler and a baby).

The options appear to be a Ford Galaxy or a Mercedes Vito.

Which would people recommend? There's about €400 of a difference. The Galaxy seems fine but its boot space doesn't seem adequate.

    Many thanks.

I booked a seven seater two years back which was meant to be an espace or equivalent. I got a Vito in the end which was massive. The thing about it is though, no matter what you book, until you are picking it up you won't know what you will get. They have different classes of cars and once they have one that matches the class you have booked, they see themselves as covered. I think one company promoted a while back that what you booked is what you got, but this would be the exception.

How much luggage do you have? If It's more than 1 suitcase and a couple of bags, I'd go for the Vito. With 6 in a Galaxy you'll have a bit of space for luggage, but not that much.

Vito will have loads of spare space for luggage and they aren't too bad to drive. Nice high seating position like a van, but you can see all around because of the windows.

Well second the notion that you are unlikely to get the car that you've booked. They will just give you something in the same class so don't worry about it too much.

Edit: just realised you are looking at two different classes. Vito is more like a small transit van than a people carrier so may be overkill. Depends if you think you will need the luggage space.

    Thanks a mill guys.

We're gonna be away for two weeks so we'll have a fair bit of luggage.

I reckon the Vito's the one...
