PRSI Refund

I've returned from a student placement over the summer and noticed on my P45 that I paid over €400 in PRSI. I'm back in college now and unlikely to return to work by the end of the year

I was wondering if there's a way to claim this back or is it gone for good?

apologies for posting in the wrong forum. Thought of prsi and refunds-> dept of social protection -> state benefits.

Do you not want the rest of your tax back as well? Why just the prsi?

Just ring the tax office and ask them about it.

Usually PRSI is not refundable, unless you overpaid it I.e. your employer put you on the incorrect class etc.
If you worked a summer job and paid PRSI, more than likely you paid the correct amount due on your income.
The department of social protection PRSI refund section in oisin house will be able to check it for you.

    Thanks for your responses guys.

Srsly78, I know how to get the tax back but was unsure if I could get prsi. Thank you for your answer though
