Average daily rate for a tiler

We have an en-suite bathroom that we want to spruce up. We've found the tiles that we want and we've got a quote from a tiler for the job. We're planning on tiling two walls and the floor - 8 foot high, 6 foot by 7 foot wide. There's a small window and shower which is attached to the existing tiles - so this will have to come down and be put back. We were wondering what would be the average daily rate for a job like this? We are going to buy the tiles ourselves. The floor is already tiled and we were told that there is enough door clearance to tile over the tiles that are there already - instead of first removing the existing tiles. Does this sound ok?
Thanks for any help - it sounds ok to us but would like a second (or more!) opinions!

If you do this there is a high chance that the new tiles will at some stage crack as there will be to much movement allowed
