Anyone using them and able to recommend a particular type, company or are they a sales man dream of the products and would you be better throwing snake oil into the tanks. Smell reduction is number one priority for me. Slurry usually stays agitated

Never used the stuff. Your neighbors must be giving you grief about the smell you have mentioned it many times

Had guy here last spring telling me about this powder that reduces agitation and smell and increase nitrogen in slurry. Back here Thursday and he gave me names of men that used it last year. Asked one and he said it worked for him and he bought more for this winter. Slurry buddy it called. Crowd from north. Crowd in Clare sell slurry wizard is less hassle to use.

Look into the ingredients Bob. The biggest ingredients is bicarbonate of soda. It's the bubbles that allow air to go through the slurry and stop it from crusting. This also holds the nitrogen.

well the cattle get bicarb soda so wonder if that is what keeps the slurry agitated as it is, could just fire in some bags bicarb and see what happens and will only cost €8 a bag. is there now live bugs in some of these products. I consider them all to be snake oil but will to try anything once in the hope of reducing the odour.

I would be all ears, had you anything to do with one localish to me;), at what quantities of slurry can you make such projects stack up, Could 50% of the feedstock be slurry

Didn't have anything to do with your fellow county mans digester. Heard lots of stories, but as you say yourself "believe half what you see and quarter of what you hear"
The crowd I work for do a 'slurry only' yoke, it comes in a 50ft container all kitted up. It can do 50kw/hr right up to 150kw/hr (altho youd need serious numbers of animals housed all year round for the 150). It does good job reducing the smell and improves the stability of the nitrogen in the end product (slurry/digestate)

From what I cansee your slurry would becloser to pig slurry than cow slurry hence you will more smell issues

i used stuff last year, can't remember the name but it broke my F*@king heart. you get small packet and mix it with luke warm water and throw it into tank. it did complete opposite to its job. it made whole tank solid. My tank can only hold 10000 gallons, small tank but i had to put in about 12000 gallons of water. i was even contiplating lifting a few slats and dig it out with back actor. Never Again. Sales man said i was "only man" that happened to, but i was talking to few others and they had similar problems. Talk to people who used it first in your locality!!!

Was talkin to another man since my earlier post that used yon slurry buddy stuff. Said complete pain in a**e to use. Get warm water, add liquid, stir, repeat, add powder, repeat, repeat. Leave for half hour stirring regularly. Add to slurry in several places in tank. Did this once a week as requested. AND NOT WORK. Slurry just as smelly and harder mixed. Man i posted about earlier that happy with it had smaller tank (40k v 100k gallons) if that made any difference

That sounds like the same Crap I got, add to water a pour into the tank in different spots, waste of money
