25k to invest in 1985 to now

For anyone who has been investing for years. Would be interested to know what youu would have made with investments stating off on this year with 25k. What could you have turned it into right up untill now. Im going to start playing about with shares with this amount and wondering what i could finish up with in 25-30 years.

25k will leave you with a million after 20 years if you can make 20% per year. A low fee bog standard index should give you 10%, 20% is what Buffett achieved so you need to be in stocks to reach a target that high. Whatever you do the key thing is to avoid high account fees and transaction costs (as they destroy the performance) and watch you tax situation.
