Two weeks hes prob just unfit and not used to the exercise is he over weight or under is he stressed its still really warm weatherwise give him a week on collevet 5 ml in morning and 5ml in the evening for 5/6 days you should see a big improvement in his energy and stamina along with a balanced diet ive started giving mine 1lb of mince on top of their nuts 3 days of the week coming up to the season ill give them a 5 day course of collevet and ive just wormed and flead them they will be leaping out of their own skin come the 1st then 3/4 weeks in ill give themanother 5 day to build em back up its always a good idea to let your dogs into a river or a stream during a training session ya get longer out of them be carefull of tiring or boring a young dog can give emabad habit of quitting when the going gets tough ,,, everyone will have their own opinions on this ,,, this is just mine works for me

Most likely just unfit, is there many field trial champions in his pedigree these sprinters lack stamina compared to the old spaniel lines

Yes there is al field trial in pedigree and ye are prob rite still only a pup and unfit
How do you go about getting a springer that's doesn't come from trailing back ground cuz if the pup isn't the sire or dam b4 or b4 that again will prob hav some top dogs name on its papers

Field trial dogs run for short runs like this and we (all hunting dog owners)have therefore selectively bred for dogs such as yours

Think it is generally accepted that dogs that have no rytex in their pedigree going back six generations are classed as old working lines and are generally a litter bigger and slower than the field trial lines but last much longer I have a 14 month old springer from Givendale springer spaniels he wld hunt for hrs on end no problems also dogs with newflame blood are generally accepted as working dogs

Thats the fault in my springer too much field trial in pedigree after 3 hours shooting he is burnt out and cant go on any longer it dont bother me too much 3 hours shooting is enough for me

Who would have the line of newflame
Ya don't really see the big old stile dogs anymore
But I would be fine with a dog going hard for 3 hrs can swap em and carry on with another lad
