Thinking of getting a 2007-08 LWB GX commercial, does anyone have similar? I am self employed, so the cheap tax appeals to me-fed up of paying €1400 a year :(

From what I've read the main complaint is an injector issue on the 05-06 models, seems fairly robust other than that. Anything else I should be aware of/have checked?

Do they have AC as standard?

    TIA.

    We've a 07 one for 3 years now approx.
Great jeep and has been incredibly reliable for us. No injector issues, you can check the chassis number with toyota and see if it's had a recal or if it needs one.
Ours has been services regularly and other than that all it's needed is a front calliper which do cause issues. They are a bit 4 pot and I was pleasantly surprised with the price of €125 inc Vat on exchange.

Drive it hard and they drink fuel like any jeep but treat with respect and we get 30mpg easily with 40mpg on the motorway at about 65mph.

We use it pulling cattle and cars and as an everyday vehicle. For pulling they are brilliant, loads of power. I've used it pulling approx 3tonne+trailer with no problems.

I find them very comfortable and a nice jeep to live with daily too.

They DO NOT have a/c as standard. Our's does not have a/c.

edit: ours is a SWB and the LWB is supposed to be a nicer jeep to drive too.

A friend of mine had a 08 one from new and he sold it this year as he wanted a change. But the jeep never caused him one problem and he loved it serious yoke when it comes to pulling a trailer too. I think overall they are a very good jeep and no thirstiest than any of the other jeeps for sale.

Many thanks for the reply Plane. Planning on buying from a main dealer for warranty, will ask re. recalls. Thought I could see AC on the left hand button under the temp dials on some, and not on others.

I will get a LWB as I want plenty of internal space, will not be towing much. Will get AC if possible though.

Yes get AC. Have to say I'd try get it if I were buying again.

I bought from a crowd in Mallow in cork. Excellent to deal with. I'm from Kildare and for test drive and purchase they met me in Cashel. I'll see if I can dig out the name.

even 07/08 models suffer from injector issues. This models also gives trouble with brake callipers and wiper linkages and window regulators are soft in them and prone to wear.

In saying that they still are the best jeep in terms of reliability out there, but they are not as well built or as good as the 1997-2002 model Imo.

Thanks for the heads up. Will check out the above, injector seals are covered by warranty-at least up to the 100,000 warranty limit AFAIK. Still on the fence about a commercial though. Cheaper tax, but heavier on fuel than current motor and a DOE every year. Waiting on the insurance company to get back re. changes to the policy as well.

What is the resale market like for Land cruisers? Is it easy to sell one on?
