    Hi folks,

We have a solid wood front door that needs to be painted. My wife is looking at a creamy colour. But before I tackle it Im wondering if I need to treat it with anything first? Its only been varnished once in the last 3 years so will need to be sanded anyway Im assuming.

Sand down, coat with undercoat (add a very small amount of thinners), fill any cracks/holes, sand lightly, apply 2nd u/coat, sand with sanding pad then apply your finish coat.
Do the panels first, followed by vertical rails, then cross rails and finally the 2 long side rails.

Sand down the varnish first. Use aluminum wood primer before undercoating especially if it is a hardwood door .

Sand Down firstly according to me after that paint your door because I have also painted my front home door after sanding!! Your color choice is too good.. I will apply this color in my interior all doors soon!! :)
