Hey all, very surprised to be picked for this (thx JB) ! Very unexpected indeed! Right Im no good at these things but Ill give it a bash. Im 31 and living in north Dublin working in IT. Only moved here about 5 years ago but Im actually a born and bred bogger from Tralee. (In fact I think 11811 may have been in my class in primary school).

I've always had an interest in cameras and my grandmother bought me my first when I was quite young and have been snapping away ever since. I've always been fascinated by light and how tiny changes in light can affect the atmosphere of a scene so much. I've tried to capture certain atmospheres or moods in photos as best I can. If the light is right Ill take a photo of anything.
I started off properly a few years back when I bought my first non P&S camera, a bridge Fuji s5600. It was a savage camera and a great place to start. I then upgraded to an olympus e410.
Soon after my first daughter was born so I spent a HUGE amount of time photographing her and the family.
As homelife got busier I realised that I had less and less time for photography and one fateful night I met a fellow tog on the beach at Portmarnock and realised I didnt have the time or resources to properly continue. So I pretty much gave up. I then concentrated on getting into game development, illustrator and 3dsmax. I even released a couple of basic android games. Now Im learning Unity.

This year a friend asked me to shoot his wedding in Italy. I reluctantly agreed, went off and got a flash(yongnuo s560 ii) and started researching how to to shoot a wedding. I realised I had a LOT to learn and it kicked off my passion again. So I've started back at square one. Im taking a more deliberate approach this time, relearning PP and trying to develop a decent workflow so I can balance taking photos with family life(now on daughter number 2).
Since then I've bought a second flash, wireless, triggers, backdrops etc and an olympus EPM1 with a sigma 30mm f2.8 (its an amazing little piece of kit). Shooting with the 30mm prime is fanastic and you really do have to think more about composition etc.
I don't think I have a particular style of shooting or genre that I prefer but I am itching to get into doing some model and portraits shots and I hope to cobble together a website properly sometime this year.
    Anyhoo thanks for reading :D

Here are a few of my favourite shots:
