Much as i hate the multi stories in the city centre they are a necessary evil sometimes. The A6 s-line isnt designed to be spun around these, wide and low, not ideal for them. College of Surgeons being a particular bane of mine..

Anyone know what the Parnell street parkrite is like? i see its managed by the same people as tallaght hospital and that is a tight carpark to get around?

What's the worst one in the city? Or am I just too cautious?

The multistory on Marlborough St (Clerys I think?) is the one that I usually use and have no issues with it. Its certainly wider and easier to navigate than College of Surgeons.

the tighest one ive been in is thechrist church parkright one , the parnell st one is abit 1/3 wider that the christchurh one.

i usually park in the parnell st one and dont have any issues, that said, im usually driving either a i30 or micra.

The one on parnell street is actually ok from what I remember, I've driven the newer model Honda CRV and an E60 BMW 520D in without any problems - The BM was probably slightly smaller than your A6, but the CRV would probably been the same size if not a slight bit bigger.

Bt carpark is a bit tight, got stuck there once when some ignorant git parked in the driving lanes, blocking an entire lane of cars.

I feel your pain OP.. I scratched the rear wheel arch of my own A6 on those stupid metal bollards in the Blanch SC multistory over by the lifts. 90 degree turn, bad lighting and 2 metal poles... who thought of that? :(

There's a lot of general parking that seem a lot narrower and shorter too since I changed.

Tightest car park I've ever been in is the one on drury st where they insist on oarking your car for you, so as to squeez more in.
As cool as it is down in the basement (I think it use to be an old distillery or brewery) the fear of some gob****e walloping their door of my car means I won't park there again.

The car park opposite brooks is nice and wide.
As is the car park on capel st ran by Louis Fitzgerald, especially if you park on the roof.

I've always parked my own car in there, and no issues.

I absolutely detest the parkrite car park in the cineworld building on parnell street. The ramps are quite steep and corners extremely tight. I drive a small hatchback and it's stressful in there for me... nevermind driving a larger car.

That Fitzgerald one is on Jervis St. I'd usually park there if I need to park in town on the northside. It fills up quick but it's easy to get around. Likewise with the Drury St. Car Park, the multistory one, not the underground one.

Is that the one that is part of the jervis shopping centre?

If it is, OH and I went there one day. He decided to park on one of the small levels, then announced he couldn't get parked as he hadn't the space.

He then said "do you think I'll fit in?" I said "of course you will" at which point he hopped out of the car while announcing, "you do it so"

I'd to reverse the ****ing car out as well when we came back!

I park in parnell street or kings inn street as it's known, everyday, it's grand! there's a few 7series bmws and high end audis that fly around it so you'l be fine! :)

Used it last night only issue I found was the tight right to exit after doing all the left down ramps. But definitely not one of the worst.

They put steel barriers along the up ramps in college of surgeons a month ago or so while painting. So no turning space. Cue many back and forths at the top of each ramp. Still managed to do nice damage to one alloy. :(

Maybe try Whitefriar St Car Park - it's just a bit of tarmac with room for about 30 cars, but there's no ramps or pillars to avoid, and it's half the price (14.50) for a days parking there versus Drury St or RCSI.

Ah yeah but if you sort of swing wide, you can get out no problem, the way i do it is, pretend you're driving a truck, and you'l get it no problem, most city car parks are designed for "city cars" which is balls if you ask me

Nah, it's the other side of the Luas track to the shopping centre. I've been in the shopping centre one too. I wasn't a fan of it but that was mainly due to the very steep entrance ramp. Parking was fine in there, no probs with that.

I haven't encountered many car parks around town where the parking is difficult... except for the stupid pillars in the middle of some spaces.

Agreed, the up/down ramps are nice and wide and it's easy to get around except for those daft narrow sections by the lift. Fortunatley not hit them myself but agree they are ridiculous.

What I also really hate is that paint or surfacing they put in car parks that have your tyres squealing all the way around. Recently parked at the Car Park behind the O2, mightn't have helped that I had a new tyre on but the car sounded like I was driving over cats all the way around it.

The Ilac is pretty handy as is Jervis.

Think the Q Park one behind Clearys is probably the best one, IMO

OP if you think you have problems with that car park, my car is an inch above the ground. I have to crab over the ramps or ill scrape the whole body off the ground. Take a look someday, its a red 406 usually parked in the corner beside 8B ;)

exiting the college of surgeons one day and went to go down a section of ramp beside the wall, there was a guy parked lengthways in front of the parking bays right in the pedestrian/"turning zone".

Beeped at him to move as tight enough to turn from the ramp to ramp. He didnt move, little beep again..he stuck his hand out and gave me the finger...managed to make the turn eventually just about...while he shouted from his car..

    Nice day out :P

I find the Setanta car park just off Molesworth St to be decent. Parking spots themselves are a decent size. The entrance/exit is a bit twisty. Need to take it slowly....
