Fancy Perfect Heart at Ascot tomorrow at 6/1 stepped up to two miles. Shaped with plenty of ability first time out at Newmarket in a race that has thrown up winners all around him, though it was a bit disappointing that he couldn't win a maiden in either of his other two starts last year. Ran well at Thirsk after a year off over 12 furlongs and is stepped up further tomorrow, which should suit given he's by Dalakhani out of a Sadlers' Wells mare and his half brother has won over fences and the top class Caucus. Worth a small win bet

He's off to the sales after this so surely they'll want to send him there on the back of a win

Would be surprised if he was sold, some of them are given an entry anyway. Shame Francis of Assisi hasn't been seen since first day of the season, had him down as one to follow looked a group horse in the making and hacked up despite the ground, out of a full sister to Henrythenavigator

Good racing in Ireland tomorrow the Parish Hall and Alfonso de Souza battle in dundalk,In two minds about Cristoforo though hes obviously not lived up to expectations hence why hes for sale maybe he has problems he missed a lot of time this season,

The maidens in Gowran are pretty strong for this time of the year Chicago wasnt off last time I fancy SOME HAWK in this one will check the market first its bumper form is very strong,

In the 2nd maiden its a cracker with De Bromheads first Giggy horse BISHOPS ROAD having its first run over hurdles has won a point and is highly reguarded,SOME ARTICLE is a bit of a mule but has a decent engine, the meade horse DEVILS PAINTBRUSH was decent in two bumpers but my preference is for the Jessica Harrington horse ROCK THE WORLD,very big reputation backed off the boards to beat the machine that is faugheen it couldnt win but tomorrow it has a jockey on board in BG so I expect it to win.

Bumper is interesting Potts horse won a point by a street probably beat sheep but if it gets in should be there abouts.

    2.00 Ascot

    Rebellious Guest 11/1

George Margarson's 4 year old Rebellious Guest has found life tough in difficult seasons but he shaped with much more encouragement on his last start and off a mark of 85 I think he could prove a big threat in this open looking contest. A very decent juvenile that saw him an impressive winner on his 2 starts outside of Group Company, Rebellious Guest's 4 runs as a 2 year old earned him a rating of 99 and he's largely struggled since then. He had 3 starts as a 3 year old (twice Group 3s) and it was a largely disappointing campaign although he was seen running on late in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot to be beaten less than 5L at Royal Ascot last year and he started off this year rated 97. In his first 3 runs this year in ultra competitive handicaps (all at Ascot; twice C+D) he finished out with the washing but there was definitely a lot more encouragement on his latest start at Yarmouth off a mark of 88. Well supported on course from 14/1 into 17/2 for the shrewd Margason operation, Rebellious Guest was held up keen in a race that was slowly run for the most part under Jamie Mackay. Still with quite a bit to do, Rebellious Guest was hampered when looking for a run but after receiving one smack behind the saddle he stayed on nicely under a sympathetic ride to beaten a little under 5L in 5th which was undoubtedly his best run for a long time. That race looks like it will work out strongly with the winner Ocean Tempest destroying what looked a competitive handicap at Chester off 4lb higher whilst the 6th Albaqaa ran a solid race in the Silver Cambridgeshire subsequently. I think the handicapper has been very, very kind to drop Rebellious Guest 3lb to a mark of 85 and his 4 runs this year have seen him fall 12lb to what looks a mark he can definitely be competitive off. On the back of his new rating, Rebellious Guest can ease again into a Class 4 contest for the first time and although it looks a competitive handicap on paper this will definitely be his easiest task for a long time and I'm hoping today he can score again for the first time since his 2 year old days. Although he has to shoulder top weight of 9-7, only 6lb separates the 18 runner field so its not too bad and regular 2 year old pilot Tom Queally gets back on board for the first time this year. Drawn in stall 7, Rebellious Guest has options from his pretty central position and there seems quite a bit of pace on in the race which will suit his hold up style. George Margarson has his yard in good form at the moment and he landed a touch at Wolves in style last night and I'm hoping he can make it 2-2 for October with Rebellious Guest today. I think a little ease in the ground will help Rebellious Guest a lot (although I wouldn't want it very soft) and if building on his latest run now dropped in grade I'm hopeful of a very big run from this lightly enough race 4 year old and hopefully he can land this prize and kick on again to somewhere back to his best.

Rossom that's one I've been waiting on, kind of fancy it today but am going to leave it for one more day, thought Suehail is a danger.

Srfc thanks for pointing that out I didn't look at Gowran, had Chicago down as a next time out winner will be backing price dependent

Maarek 9/1 for the Prix De L'Abbeye on Sunday. Ground officially soft and should rain more by then. Drawn well in stall 7. McDonogh back on board after the successful partnership last time out. I'll be overjoyed if he can win this!

Didn't back that horse at Ascot in the end it's a trappy race. Ill stick to my beloved Friday nights at Dundalk, take a chance on Irish Spirit in the second who ran a cracker over a trip probably too short at Tramore last time after a year off, was tried in a group race second time out and could be better than a mark of 70 even if it may be a little harsh at 12/1

In the last Kings Wharf has poor form figures but there was promise off much higher marks when he ran at Wolverhampton, beaten into second off a stone higher. Ran well at Naas a few months ago but not as good since, though shaped better last time out and at 20/1 is worth a chance in a wide open race.

Rossom would you be worried that Maarek took so long to get going last time, the Abbaye is run at a frantic pace he'll be finishing strong but if the run last time out was over five he would have been stuffed

Kaki de la pree in the last race at plumton had a big reputation last season with Henderson, starting here in a maiden hurdle for Symonds 10/1 might be an ew bet.

Took the 2/1 about Chicago, ran with bags of promise last time behind two highly rated horses, wasn't given a hard ride either. He definitely looks up to winning races over hurdles. Some Hawk is a big danger though on his bumper form.

Chicago was a big price on Betfair this morning having settled at a lot lower last night.

    Been backed all morning

Rossom news on the ground is good side of soft as of 2pm today.Friend has walked the course and he is predicting perfect ground for Sunday with no soft in the going. No rain predicted temps will be in the high 60s.

Its a very long spin from Swords to Hexham the north east of England for Paddy Griffen. All his horses try as he doesnt bet but all look badly handicapped as a result. He used to train a decent horse years ago called Feltrimhill Lad.

Parish Hall should be odds on in the 7.45 @ Dundalk, currently 9/4.

No way, Afonso looked like he had progressed really well beating a match fit and in form Halford horse. Could improve further, Parish Hall has the form claims but would be more 6/4 but I still wouldn't back him today he best Inis Meain who is only a handicapper when he won a few runs back

Friday night means sand dune racing and beers. Going to try ruwaiyan in the lucky last at wolver, lightly raced with some decent runs last season over 10f, 8f was too short and 12f too long so far this season, 9f looks about right, a class 5 seems about the right pitch for this fella to give a good a/c of himself.

Was only beating 7l by a match fit The Fugue last time out, Bolger isnt taking his time with this horse for nothing, i think we will see the best of him tonight on good ground.

I haven't seen much of him before apart from knowing he has an awful strike rate, but it looked like there that Ian Queslly can't ride a horse

Got an awful ride last time, went far to early should win tonight.

Some races makes such little punting appeal it beggars belief. Six runner maiden at Wolv and the first four are priced between 2/1 and 4/1 typically won by a 12/1 shot
