Power saving mode on Dell PC

My Dell Inspiron PC with Windows 8 often will go into Power saving mode after a few hours of inaction. PC is still on but I cant get anything else on monitor apart from Power saving mode. The only think I can do is switch off power to it and start it up again. Anyone else had any probs like this?
