Fantasy Sports in America

Just read a cracking article on how many Americans view Fantasy (American) Football. Really shows the difference! If I'm honest I still don't fully understand the set up to their system. There doesn't seem to be an 'overall league' like our FF, and the draft system makes it even more confusing for someone unfamiliar with US sports.

It does show the possible future of the game though, and what happens as it permeates society more and becomes more mainstream. I'm not sure we'll ever see Fantasy Lounges in stadiums or Fantasy Soccer Saturday on TV but the PremierLeague.com have monopolised the game and it must be worth millions a year in advertising revenue. I would love if someone else launched a rival brand that was as good (previous rivals have been terrible) with better prizes on offer. It wouldn't be difficult to mix betting in with the game - "Do you think Player X's team will beat Player Y's team this week?"

Possibilities are endless. If only I had the cash to set it up...
