Rear Wiper and NCT

Is a rear wiper required for the NCT? I am thinking about removing the rear wiper from my car (golf) for that smooth look. But I don't know if a rear wiper is required for the NCT. I know most coupes don't have rear wipers. But mine is a hatch Thanks

It's not required, but the aerodynamics of hatchback vs coupe are different, due to the very obvious rear end differences.

Coupes don't end up with spray on the rear windscreen, because there's a boot overhanging. Hatchbacks on the other hand...

If you do remove it, you'll have a hard time seeing anything out the back if its wet/mucky
