account number mix up

    Wondering if anyone could help me with this. I'm on the BTEA . I wrote to the office with my account details and letter of registration from college. After 3 weeks of waiting I rang the office wondering where my payment was and they told me a 3week backdated sum had already gone in. I rang my credit union and they had no record of this.
    Long story short , we figured out that there was a wrong digit - a "1" instead of a "/" on there system. My credit union told me that the payment should have bounced back to the social welfare as the number they had doesn't exist.
    I told this to social welfare and they said they'd process it when they get it back.

    Anyone know how long I'll be waiting? Or will I even get it back now?

    Did you go to the socail welfare and give them the new number so the sum has a place to be bounced back to?

    yea, gave them proper number. i just checked now and i got 188 paid today alright, just waiting for the 3week back dated sum that's being processed (i hope)
