Dubai or not Dubai?

    Hi all,

    I know there are other threads on this topic but none updated very recently as far as I can see. We are off to Dubai this year and were thinking of getting the engagement ring ther. Is it a good idea? And should I be paying 1/3 or 1/2 less than same here?

    Any help would be appreciated as I am a bit lost on this despite reading many forums etc.

    If anyone has experience of doing so would be grateful of your advice in particular.

    I honestly cant tell you how much cheaper it is, roughly 1/3 less than Ireland
    Make sure and go to the Gold and Diamond park(Near mall of the emirates) not the gold souk in deira. The gold souk is interesting to look around as a tourist but not to buy. the main shop in the G&D park is Cara but they are all generally the same. Monali is good (Got our wedding bands there) and the staff are really nice. Haggle over the price, they expect it. Go there on your first day so if you are getting something made you have time. if there is a style she likes bring a photo and they will be able to make it. Good luck
