Ford Focus Blower Resistor Problem

Hi, basically my 99 Focus keeps burning out the blower motor resistor pack.
    Does anyone know the cause?

Is there any merit to putting in a higher tolerance resistor fuse, or is this just ignoring an underlying problem elsewhere?

Without the resistor I only have use of the top speed setting but this isnt ideal, its quite loud.
    Thanks.

When was the cabin filter last changed?

If the cabin filter is blocked it can cause the resistor to overheat and burn out.

I'm not sure, I got the car 6 months ago so its probably been a while (if ever)
You dont happen to know the spec for the fuse itself do you?
I'm going to solder in a new fuse myself.

I have no idea, new resistors are less than €20 so it wouldn't pay us to try to fix them tbh.

If I were you I would fit a new filter and replace the resistor again and see how it goes.

Cool, I'll do that George and see how it goes, may as well do the engine filter while I'm at it. Thanks
