41% 3g signal... 11kbps ?

    im using a unlocked huawei e1820 that i originally got from three to use a vodafone sim after unlocking the dongle, this is hooked up to my dovado UMR router, the router tells me i have 41% 3g signal with vodafone but im only getting 11kbps , anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

    Strength and quality are not linked. You can have a full strength signal and because of interference no quality at all.

    is there any tool to actually find the best 3g signal? like we have for sateillite dishes... im sure there is a better speed than 11kbps in my house

    Try www.siteviewer.ie to identify the nearby masts.

    Then get a PAYG SIM from each network and run speed tests on your phone in different parts of the house.

    thats what im doing now , ive already tried all of them, the best is three, but ive only tried them all in the one spot where i can get good three coverage
