I have purchased a set of fake dre beats online and I got a text from DHL asking for proof of purchase and if I don't provide it my package will be sent back to where it came from (hong kong)... why? I have no way of giving proof of purchase in 5 days as I paid via credit card and my credit card statement wont arrive for another 2 months.
WHATS GOING ON! WHAT DO I DO? HELP

If they are fake and they find out they will be destroyed, copyright laws and all that. If you paid for them online surly you got a confirmation order email. That's your proof of purchase. Probably want to check if the right price is listed on the package versus the email invoice for VAT so they can charge you for that too.

Hi thanks for reply. I received this email from the site I purchased them off:

Cart Items - To Buy Now Item Code Quantity Price
Monster Solo Hd Headphones with Controltalk Retail Sealed Box for A+++TOP QUALITY! PO# xxxxxxxxxxx 1 ( Piece ) USD70.5 /Piece

    Shipping method: EMS

    Subtotal: $ 70.5
    Seller Discount: -$ 10.5
    Total: $ 60.0

is this sufficient? Do you think I should send them proof of purchase at all or should I just let them be posted back or what (I don't want to get in trouble for them being fakes and get fined) or what would your opinion on the matter be?

    thank you

you paid $60 for fake beats headphones?? P T Barnum was right.

You might be better off being reimbursed for those 'beats'! If your seller is using DHL to transport them from Hong Kong ....there's a strong possibility they are worth a lot, lot, lot less than you have paid.

at this point I don't care about what their worth. I just want to find out if the message I received from DHL saying for custom clearance I must provide proof of purchase within 5 days. Is a sign they know they are fake OR is it simply looking for proof of purchase for tax purposes. Also if I was to get a refund, how would I go about that without having to pay anything/much??

Probably just looking for a receipt so they can calculate the tax owed or determine if they are fakes.

It's purely for the tax; they would need to take it to a authorised reviewer for the authentication or not as they would be held liable if not.

Could u ring cc company and ask them to email you a statement? Would they do that?
Can you access your cc online and print off a statement?

Let them send them back and do a chargeback with your cc.

I wasn't aware DHL were authorised instruments of the state dealing with tax collection.

All major carriers are for the packages they handle as far as I'm aware.

I had to pay import duty on a warranty replacement kindle because DHL paid it when it was imported and wouldn't deliver it until they were reimbursed.

Couldn't get it back either as every department I rang just gave me the number of another department until eventually one of them told me to send an email to an email address that didn't exist.

Actually you would need to contact customs and not DHL about it as they only pass on the customs duties.

Ya, DHL told me to ring customs, customs gave me a load of bull**** i.e. ring this guy, no ring this guy etc. the last guy just gave me an email address that didn't exist.

Normally I would have gone back and kept annoying them until I got my money back, but the guy who broke the kindle gave me the money for it, so I wasn't that pushed.

Kalvinl8 did you end up sending any proof of purchase or did you let it be sent back to its origin? I ordered items online and the same thing has happened to me, DHL text me this morning asking me to forward proof of purchase, I presume that the items are valued lower on the package then what I paid. I dont know whether to forward the paypal receipt or whether to let them send it back. I dont want the goods to be destroyed. I paid $112 including postage.

can anyone advise me what to do

send them what they are asking for and pay they correct duty + vat. If the price on the package is lower than what you paid then that has no effect on you. Or dont send it to them and dont get the goods and have all the hassle of trying to get the price you paid refunded.

Send them a screen shot of the item from the website you purchased it from!
