Desperately Broody?!

Over the past year I've been having barely controllable urges to try for a baby with my partner. We've been together for 6 years and are very happy. Both of us want kids, as many of them as we can manage! While the feeling always passed (I am a mature student), they get stronger every time, and I'm starting to wonder how to suggest it to my partner. I have no idea in the world why I'm afraid to say it. We've often discussed children, have names chosen for boys and girls, and he absolutely insists without prompting how much he wants to be a daddy.
I know he'd make a fantastic father, and we are still very much in love, so I have no issues there. I just can't seem to bring myself to say out loud to him that I want a baby now, and I'm not one to resort to trickery.

    Any ideas?

How about beginning the conversation by telling him you are broody.

You don't have to say you want a baby right off, just start a conversation and take it from there.

    Good luck.

You can't bring yourself to tell him but basically you just have to. It's as simple as that.
There is no other way around this other than honesty.

I think you're both right, in fact I know you are. I have no idea why I have a fear of bringing it up - the worst thing he could say is not right now. I thought about it all last night and it really is the perfect time in both our lives to start. I'll talk to him tonight!
