    Hi,

    I got my no claims discount but I don't understand totally what does it means.
    I never had any accidents and last year was my first time I got insured in Ireland.
    At this time, the insurance company asked me to translate my previous no claims bonus discount to take them in consideration.
    The only thing I claim last year was a windscreen replacement and the insurance company told me there was no claim for this replacement.

    There is the details on below for the No Claims Discount the insurance company sent me.

    No claims discount details :

    No Claims Discount : 67 %

    Claim Free Years : 0

    Point of Scale : 6

    Point of No claims discount scale:

    Year 0 -> 0 %
    Year 1 -> 38 %
    Year 2 -> 43 %
    Year 3 -> 50 %
    Year 4 -> 58 %
    Year 5 -> 64 %
    Year 6 -> 67 %

    Claims/Conviction Details (Date,Claim,Convition type,Claim status,Paid/Fine, Period of Disqualification)

    2012-12-31 Windscreen 230.00 Y

    I checked online some quotes with a no claims bonus for the last 5 years and I got some interesting quotes but I prefer to make sure I don't make any mistakes when I fill the form online when I declare a "no claims for the last 5 years".

    Thank you.

    Did you have any claims in the last 6 years? (either in Ireland or country where you came from)?

    If not, then surely you can declare that you have 6 years claims free driving.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the answer.
    No, I never had any claims since I'm driving ( only the windscreen replacement last year)
    I wasn't too sure about the meaning for the Claim Free Years : 0 and the 67 %. (why 67 %?)

    I'm also not too sure why did they indicate on your NCB statement that you have 0 years claims free years.
    Either it's they county windscreen claim to it, or it just shows claims free driving with them.

    67% discount is what this insurer offers for 6 years no claims driving.

    Thank you for the answer.
    If I do understand, despite the insurance company indicates I have 0 years claims free years that might be related like you said to the windscreen cover, I can safely declare I have no claims bonus for the last 5 years when I will fill apply online for the new quote?

    If you in any doubt about the policy, I suggest phoning the company before you pay. Its fine getting quotes on line to compare prices.

    Assuming you really do have them, then yes.
    In the worst case they might ask you for documents from your previous country confirming that no claims driving.

    The percentage is how much of a discount you are getting,
    with 0 years you are getting no discount, but with 6 years NCB you are getting a 67% discount,

    Year 0 -> 0 %
    Year 1 -> 38 %
    Year 2 -> 43 %
    Year 3 -> 50 %
    Year 4 -> 58 %
    Year 5 -> 64 %
    Year 6 -> 67 %
