Car insurance?

Hi, I'm 18 and I have my provesional licence. I am taking my actual test next week. I am looking into buying a car for myself (a cheap one) but I don't have enough money to pay for the insurance. Theoretically the cheapest quote I got online was €2100 on a nissan micra. Paying this much for insurance is out of the question. I've been asking people my age who drive how they could afford insurance. One person said he got insurance in a car for €600. He said his father put him down as an apprentice so he could get commercial vehicle insurance. Can anyone tell me is it possible to do or is it a lie? This would be possible for me to get as my father owns a business? Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

It would be risky as they might not pay in the event of a claim.
Have a look at this thread and get a quote from all the insurers there:

Then play one insurance co of against another. My first insurance was about 1300. I had one quote of over 4000.

Try Brittons Insurance. My niece was trying them as her friend got a very good quote first time. They have a certain insurance for young drivers. Worth a try. Good luck.
