I have heard that people come from abroad to study the Concourse to study how badly it is designed.

Is this true, does anyone have a source?

I wouldn't say its badly designed but it is typical of the architect's (Scott Tallon Walker) style of the time and has dated somewhat.

Other examples of their work at the time include the RTÉ Radio Centre in Dublin and the former Carrolls factory in Dundalk.

It would be interesting to know if those studying the Concourse in NUI Galway are also visiting these buildings.

One of the poorer aspects in the design of the concourse (and other buildings such as the IT and Orbsen) is the way they turn their back on the river.

A real missed opportunity has been missed here.

not much thought for the orbsen building really..I was told by a vereran employee of the college that it originally was just meant to be a carpark. Probably will end up as one if all the labs move on

It was a green area, then a car park.
    then it was built on.
