Hi,I am just starting to build a storey and a half house. It is 3000 sq ft. It has concrete slabs at first floor level. Double leaf cavity on exterior walls. All walls inside are block also. There are four rows of dead building. His quote for laying all blocks is €13000.this includes him supplying his own teleporter and he will supply and fit all props under slabs for a considerable amount if time. Does this sound expensive??

My house 3500 story n half .65c/ block in foundation and used nearly just over 5000.

The house was done for €8500. But i done my own acros bought them €10 each sold them after. Blocklayer didn't do anything only lay blocks maybe there's the difference.

Exactly. Price blocks, chimney filled and capped, sills installed, house swept out after. Teleporter is good to have. what part of the country are you based

Based in Meath. I thought it was a food price considering there is a lot of block. They do everything from start to finish. From building footings and then coming back a wk later to block house. They will leave it ready for wall plate. It does include fitting sills and granite surround around the front door.

Don't see the need for a qs. I am in the construction trade myself so I have a fair idea in his things work. Blockwork is the only thing that seems to have come in mite than I expected. Waiting on 2 more prices to come in so I will see how I get in.
