Will the college pay any percentage of your wage whilst you're doing said work experience?

No they won't. Placement is mainly paid however if I fail to secure placement by january I have to do 8 weeks unpaid where the college will organise it

Ideally I'd prefer to get paid, what my initial question was is there any websites where organisations seek internships for current undergrads

SAP, HP and Google are the main ones who offer paid Internships. You could look into IBM, Intel and Oracle, they may offer them too. Microsoft also offers Intern positions.

Accenture, PWC, AIB also offer Intern positions now I think of it, in their IT/Technology divisions. PWC is based around Risk Services, Accenture around Consulting, AIB have offered them around their Information Systems.

Best of luck with it all.

Edit: Also keep an eye on GradIreland.com. A lot come and go up on there.

Most businesses would pay your expenses, or pay you something anyway. What I've seen in the last months BTW, is not how much they pay but is how much experience they offer.

If they pay you lots, but you spend the whole day photocopying or cold calling - and compare that to an unpaid internship with a young start-up, I would choose the second!

The best you can do is contacting the business, and try to gather as much information as you can on the experience that they are actually planning to give you.

You can check Xperience.ie, there are over 45 internships available in Ireland at the moment so hopefully you will find a suitable one!
