'00 astra 1.4 hatch; all the lights in the centre console (stereo lcd display and backlights for temp knobs, etc.) are not working with the exception of the ones in the head unit.

I've checked all fuses and they're fine; is there anything else I should check before pulling the centre console apart?!

I'm not 100% sure, I wasn't really driving it during dark hours when it happened. The first thing I noticed was that the display for the stereo was gone.

By any chance at all are they dimmed down? Happened to me once and scared the hell out me

If you're taking the center console out start at the bottom by removing the screws, you'l need a particular bit for them, then the radio and there's two bolts behind the radio in the corners, then at the top where the tempature and all is, you need to kind of force it out, but the little dash is screwed into that so that's a bit awkward too along with the air con controls, they clip out so just be careful and you'l be grand, once that's all out you should be able to change the lights

I checked the dimmer first; cluster lights are working fine with it!

I'll have a go at pulling it apart this weekend, up to my eyes at the moment!
