Looking to go to the open day Friday. Seems the Park n'Ride near the Dangan sports centre is for teachers / careers guidance only.

Where can one park in that case within walking distance as will be there for a few hours?

Cathedral car park would be your best bet i'd say..park there, go over the new bridge and you're in the the main campus area in 5 mins..park all day there for €4 or €5 i think..but don't quote.me on that

Just arrive early to the Cathedral, it fills up quickly with worker's cars.
Next close one is Mill street, next to the garda station. About 10 mins away walking.

The Dyke Road car park is a good option also if the others are full. There always seems to be spaces available there and it's a 10 minute walk from NUI Galway.

Be sneaky and park in Dun na Coiribe, just a short walk over the bridge to NUIG, plenty of students drive up and park there, you might as well too

There are some pay and display places on campus, dont rely on them unless you plan on be around from 8-8.30am. Clampers are w4nkrs around NUIG. Assume that if you park in the wrong place or don't have a valid ticket, you will be clamped. Tears won't work.

Go Saturday and the campus has free parking.

There are P&D places there and it's a useful walk through corrib village (if it's not a miserable day) to get an idea of what the entire campus is like.
