American Airlines baggage allowance?

    Hi. I'm travelling to Vegas with AA and to NYC with Virgin and back to Dublin with AA, starting next week. My question will likely only relate to the NYC to Dublin trip.

    I see there is a baggage allowance of 23kg with AA with an upper limit of 32kg. I'm not sure this is enough, as I plan to buy a few things when i'm over there and I struggle to keep the weight low on European flights.

    If I add another checked bag, do I get another 23kg allowance? If yes, how do I add another bag (I would buy a duffel bag over there). I already have my tickets from the travel agent.

    Cheers. Was booked in January, but I changed the return flight in August. I will look more into it so.

    Just rang AA and they said it would be $60, but my travel agent needed to book the extra bag. Also, on one of the flights, we're oddly sitting in different places. It's only 1 seat away, but still........another thing to chat about with the travel agent tomorrow.

    Just to warn you, I travelled with AA last month and while they were great (I reckon they have more leg room than other transatlantic carriers I have used) they don’t have on demand movies or seat back TV’s. Bit of a bummer on a long flight. Might be an idea to stock your laptop or tablet with some viewing material.
