    No mon, no fun

Due to the lapse in federal government funding, this website is not available.
    We sincerely regret this inconvenience.

For information about available government services, visit USA.gov.

But what happens to the six humans living more than 200 miles above the Earth in the government-funded International Space Station?
Luckily, NASA has a plan to prevent "harm to life or property." That means the ISS programs are exempt from a government shutdown, according to a plan on their website [PDF]. The astronauts and cosmonauts currently on the space station will be just fine.

If the shutdown lasts an extended amount of time, Soyuz launches and landings from the ISS should continue as planned. NASA just sent three new crew members up on Sept. 25. Three others are scheduled to return to Earth on November 12.

Im gobsmacked at this whole shutdown. This just highlights how silly the whole money system has become and the need for major reform.

97% of NASA employees on unpaid leave. What a crazy and depressing situation.
