prison officer requirements ?.

    hey just wondering whats the requirements to apply for a prison officers job,are there many subjects needed in the leaving cert etc ?

    When I joined in 2001 you only had to have a good standard of reading and writing you then did an exam and if you passed that then you went onto do a group exercise which was monitored by a prison governor a civil servant and a phycologist and then an interview. The new system is a leaving cert including a language and the above criteria and then a physical and fitness test.
