Adhesive for trim on car door?

Anyone got any recommendations for attaching the trim to the side of a car door, mines beginning to come away from the car in the middle. I don't want to use double sided tape as it won't give an even finish, any recommendations on an adhesive to use that will be fairly handy around to apply and not heavily mark the paintwork of the car?

btw it's external I am talking about.

Don't the manufacturers use tape? Can't see how it'd be uneven

Will check it out, would probably have to remove all that to make one even section.

Oh absolutely. Mark position with masking tape. Clean everything off and start again.

Use the USA weatherstrip I've linked to below.i just finished using it on a car restoration and it's amazing stuff. Add it to both clean sides, let it go tacky for five mins and stick forever.

It really works great.

My main worry is trying to get a well insulated fit where no road dirt begins to build up inside the gaps.

Use a caramel wheel to remove the old adhesive tape, then use panel tape to bond on the trim piece again.
