I am repeating a year out of choice to improve grades

but this year since i dont get a grant, i have to pay reg fees on top of living costs which is really putting me in the red

is there any other type of funding available instead of the Student grant?

Not as far as I know.

Do you really need to repeat the year, especially since you passed anyway?

The government/grant authorities will help out, but in fairness can you expect them to assist people who are not progressing in their education?
