1kg of rooster potatoes for 39c in Tesco. A bargain considering a 2kg bag is €2.49. Just made some homemade chips with them too :pac::pac::pac::pac:

ehh ok you didn't need to dig it out from a week ago but I see it was your post so I clearly 'stepped on your toes'!! Don't worry, i'll keep them all to myself in future for fear of posting a bargain that was already posted. Just thought I might have helped someone struggling to plan out a dinner for the week. Silly old me!

Were yours normal sized then mine are like baby potatoes. Still yum and half the price of laldi roosters

There are six other fruit&veg for 39c @ Tesco. Should we have a thread on all of them?

No the majority in the two bags I got would be big enough, two to three times the size of a baby potato. I peeled them without even thinking they were small so that a good sign :D

No but maybe post all of them in a better thread than an "Aldi Super 6" one? Doesn't really count as being already posted surely?

    Thanks OP

Just had them for dinner there, they are small, baby potato sized, almost lost a finger peeling them, but they are still really tasty!

I feel sorry for the farmers obviously not getting paid a fair price

Hard to know. Potatoe farmers would have thrown out these little potatoes in the past. They are prob glad to be getting anything for them.

On the up side they cook quickly and where would you be going at only 39c big or small there is a Kg in the bag, making €2.73 for 7Kgs versus €7.50 for the big 7kg bag.

Do/did farmers not store them as seed potatoes to grow the following year
